Vehicles, trailers, tractors, tractor trailers, motor vehicles shall be insured against the following risks: “A”- motor accident ? destruction or damage of a motor vehicle in case of collision with another vehicle, moving or standing objects, turning over, sinking, short circuit (unless followed by fire), falling down of the vehicle or falling of any objects on it. “B”- theft ? theft of a motor vehicle, its parts or accessories or damage thereof in an attempted theft. In case of car, terrain vehicle and minibus insurance against theft, a prerequisite condition is an active alarm system. When the value of the mentioned vehicles exceeds LTL 10000, a prerequisite condition is an active ignition or fuel-supply blocking alarm together with gear-lever locker, immobiliser-type safety devices together with audible signalling system. “C”- fire (firing of a motor vehicle), explosion (bursting), other deliberate acts of third parties and natural calamities. Deliberate acts of third parties also include damage committed by an unidentified person (persons) to a parked motor vehicle. In addition to a motor vehicle, the following risks might be covered: health and life of drivers and passengers as caused by motor accident misadventures (subject to the number of passenger seats indicated in the pamphlet); adds-on. Adds-on shall include any equipment of a motor vehicle not installed as necessary by the manufacturing plant. Motor vehicles might be insured on an individual or group basis. Only vehicles in good technical order might be covered. Premiums are subject to the age, driving experience, place of residence of the insured, intended use of the motor vehicle, its age, territory of maintenance. Insurance cover shall be valid not only in Lithuania; it may be extended to cover West Europe, European part of Russia, Byelorussia, the Ukraine, Latvia and Estonia.
